Essential Functions:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages according to Taste 154's recipes and standards.
• Ensure the freshness and quality of coffee beans and other ingredients, adhering to established food safety protocols.
• Prevent cross-contamination by meticulously maintaining cleanliness and organization of workspace and equipment.
• Maintain ticket times within acceptable limits, prioritizing efficiency without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
• Proactively communicate with management regarding equipment maintenance or repair needs.
• Accommodate customer dietary preferences and restrictions, providing personalized service when necessary.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
• Uphold the cleanliness and orderliness of the coffee station and surrounding areas.
• Contribute to the creation and execution of seasonal or specialty coffee offerings.
• Demonstrate respect for equipment by handling it with care and reporting any issues promptly.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• Previous experience as a barista preferred.
• Proficiency in operating coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers.
• Familiarity with various coffee brewing methods and techniques.
• ServSafe Certification for the state of Pennsylvania.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Comfort with frequent hand washing and exposure to cleaning products.

Working Environment:

The barista role at Taste 154 operates within a typical café environment, with variations in temperature due to heating, air conditioning, and proximity to refrigeration units. You may encounter sudden changes in temperature while serving guests outdoors or performing opening procedures.

Equipment Usage Requirements:

Espresso machines, grinders, milk frothers, brewing equipment, utensils, cups, saucers, cleaning supplies, POS systems.
