Taste 154 - Register Attendant Position Description

Essential Functions:

• Greet guests within 30 seconds to 1 minute, creating a positive first impression with a warm smile and friendly demeanor.
• Take guest orders promptly and accurately, adhering to restaurant standards and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Cultivate an inviting atmosphere by exhibiting an outgoing personality and engaging with guests in a friendly manner.
• Follow the Taste 154 Steps of Service to deliver exceptional guest experiences consistently.
• Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management to anticipate and fulfill guest needs.
• Assist with pre-bussing and bussing tables, completing assigned side work, and maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant.
• Adhere to Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board service guidelines and maintain a valid RAMP Training certificate.
• Safely handle service equipment, including knives, coffee makers, and POS terminals.
• Provide knowledgeable explanations of menu items, offer suggestions to guests, and upsell when appropriate.
• Accurately input orders into the POS terminal, handle cash transactions, make change, and process credit card payments.
• Read and organize tickets efficiently to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Collaborate with other team members, including hosts, bartenders, and food runners, to ensure seamless service.
• Express gratitude to departing guests and use their names whenever possible.

Other Functions:

• Perform additional duties as assigned by manager or supervisor on duty.
• Adhere to company uniform and appearance policy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a server or similar role preferred.
• Ability to memorize food and drink menus.
• RAMP Training Certification.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Accurate cash handling skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
• Patience and a customer-oriented approach.
• Trustworthy and reliable.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifts 10 lbs constantly, up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Color and depth perception required for vision.
• Stands and walks constantly inside and outside of the restaurant.
• Listens to and comprehends instructions from guests and team members over background restaurant noise.
• Frequent hand washing required.
• Ability to be mobile on feet for a minimum of 6 hours.

Equipment Usage Requirements:

• iPad, computer/POS (Point of Sale), telephone, bus tubs, trays, tables, chairs, water pitcher, ice buckets, dish machine, garbage cans, food products.

Working Environment:

• Typical restaurant environment with heat and air conditioning.
• May experience sudden changes in temperature while seating guests outside or performing opening procedures.
